Movie Review as Haiku

George Clooney with gut,
Sharp, scathing commentary
I say, "Two thumbs up!"

Matrix Revolutions

Directors, take note:
Franchise isn't everything
Just let it drop, please!

Who understands it?
(David Lynch at his weirdest)
Certainly not me

I need to see Syriana.

As the provider of afflicted Matrix 3, wasn't the entertainment system the shit, though? The movie, however, is simply shit. No article.

I love this idea. I need to use it for the next flick I check out.

And Mulholland Drive is great because it doesn't make sense..........unless you decide to go with one of the 53 different explanations that says that it's actually Betty's dream turned nightmare. Regardless, Naomi Watts was phenomenal.

Mulholland Dr. was great precisely because the viewer wishes several of those scenes were a part of "reality" but one will never know. Hence, the frustration and the eternal dream created for us by Lynch.

Lynch is one of my favorite directors. But, of course, you don't have to like him one bit.

I've yet to see Syriana and can't wait.

effing brilliant.

and i'm with you on mulhulland. i like weird stuff (Donnie Darko anyone?), but when there are a zillion "explanations" out there for a story, then at some point you just have to believe it's a movie that makes absolutely no sense so it allows you to put any frame on it you want. i mean, that's just me.

S-money: the entertainment system was, in fact, the shit, surpassed only by you. My favorite moment was when you were fiddling with the aspect ratio (?) and made it so that Keanu was cut off from the bridge of his nose up. As you so wisely noted, it didn't affect his "acting ability" at all.

Mulholland Types: yeah, I loved it, even if I can't explain it. There were so many details to notice. I love, love, love Donnie Darko, and not just b/c my boyfriend is in it.

heather & maisnon, I lurved Donnie Darko, and that's how JG became my boyfriend! But I don't get Mulhollard Drive. I feel like I should have done some drugs prior to watching it.
