How to feel like an intellectual heavy-hitter

...watch the airline's screening of The Perfect Man (starring Hilary Duff and Heather Locklear) while the guy in the seat next to you reads Emile Zola's Germinal.

HAHAHAHAHAHA! My friend, Anne, and I just bust out laughing from reading that because we've had those moments ... or hours.

Mine was almost worse - "Mean Girls" with Lindsay Lohan while the ex-bf read Scientific American

But, it's like watching a trainwreck. Trying ... can't ... avoid ... must ... aaaaah ...

I find it almost impossible to avert my eyes from moving image. It doesn't matter how bad it is. If the sound is not in headphones, it will suck me in for sure. Case in point: The Core on the bus trip from Boston to NYC two thanksgivings ago. I had about a billion more interesting things to read in my bag, but I couldn't stop looking.
