I. Am. Batman.

Many years ago, I went to Lilith Fair on the spur-of-the-moment (a friend of a friend had an extra ticket.) As usual, I had not prepared for the weather and it started raining. I wore friend-of-a-friend's extra flannel shirt (hey, it was the grunge era!) It was super ginormously huge on me - and for some reason, I stood on one leg (think tree pose in yoga) and kept saying, "I am Batman." while holding out my flannel "wings." (Frighteningly, I was stone cold sober - there's a reason I don't drink much - I'm weird enough without it, thanks.)

I ended up chatting with the peeps on the next blanket over, and I emailed one of the girls the next week. The email said "Hi, it's me - you know, Batman."

I still think that's the funniest email I've ever sent.

P.S. - Go see "Batman Begins" - it's decent! [High praise, coming from me.]

haha, nice. the only crazy concert story i have was getting sunburned so bad at the warped tour in high school that my mom almost took me to the hospital. talk about not being prepared for the weather.

i'm glad to hear that the reason you haven't updated in two days wasn't that you were cramming property questions or in a coma from pmbr cd's, i was starting to worry.

i really want to see batman begins. i'll have to hop by this weekend maybe.

I find the title of your post nostalgic, because I had a friend in graduate school who used to randomly blurt out, "I am Batman" all Michael Keaton-style. He was also convinced he needed to wear a baseball cap because people would otherwise mistake him for George Clooney, so he was clearly a little delusional.

I liked it b/c I am pretty crazy for comics-turned-into-movies. That said, low expectations are the way to go.

I thought Katie was, um, okay in it. What annoyed me more than the items in Manish's list was the way Bale "disguised" his voice by basically dropping his chin.

So weird, Brimful, I describe my haircut in college as "the George Clooney" (i.e. the modified Caesar.)

Shoot. I'm ashamed to say the only concert I've ever been in were the orchestra concerts.

George Clooney is doing voiceovers for Budweiser commericals, and don't you find that just a little disturbing?
